Two cellos sitting in a cargo hold, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
Two cellists sitting in a train, A-R-G-U-I-N-G.
Two cellists walk in a theatre.
Mrs Cello goes one way and Mr Cello goes another.
Musicians trickle in, some greet Mrs Cello and some greet her ex.
The clock goes tick-tock. Then GONG.
Two cellists walk on stage, where two chairs wait.
The audience claps and the conductor directs.
Two cellists make their cellos cry and the audience weeps.
Two cellists bow and the audience roars.
Backstage Mrs Cello smiles at her ex.
The musicians come in and cheer.
The two cellists are K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

This is my answer to the photo prompt kindly provided by Rochelle for this week’s Friday Fictioneers challenge. It was a bit of a gamble posting this piece, but … well…I hope you like it!
P.S. My brother the musician has just informed me that the instruments you see in the picture are double basses and not in fact cellos, I went ahead with this taking some poetic licence.
Funny and clever! I like it. (And I thought they were cellos too – oh well, I claim artistic license!)
A little disclaimer and we can get away with anything 😉 Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Sandra,
A well-tuned story that ends with H-A-R-M-O-N-Y. Ron
Oooh like what you did there 🙂 Thank you Ron. Always a pleasure.
Aww, I really liked this!! And I’m a sucker for a romantic ending 🙂
I am glad you did Hayley. Thanks for reading 🙂
Awww.. That’s a cute story with a happy ending.. Had such a musical touch to it. Enjoyed reading..
All thanks to the beautiful picture! I’m glad you liked it 🙂
Clever little story – I loved the feel of it – like a song for small children (although possibly a bit too much kissing for the little ones). You could even come up with some actions!
It all started from the taunt we used in the playground when we were kids… a little more action though and from PG this may turn to X rated 😉 Thank you for visiting!
haha yes someone told me they’re double basses too lol! but i decided not to change my story. enjoyed reading this ^^
Yes it was too much of a hassle to change and cellos are so much more romantic! Thank you for the comment, I’m glad you stopped by 🙂
Delightful read. Charming and a little on the quirky side. Nifty!
Thank you dear Sir, your comment made me smile 🙂
Nicely done. Enjoyed it.
Thanks Sandra, I’m glad you did.
I am So glad I read this!!!
Aww…I’m happy you stopped by 🙂
“So two cellists walk into a bar…” Oh that’s another story ;). Clever and cute, Sandra. Made me smile.
Perhaps I should’ve mentioned that my “education” was from Roger who when I said cello, corrected me and told me they were double basses. But then a prompt is a prompt. .You could’ve written about guitars or flutes and it would’ve been fine.
Shalom,
Rochelle
That is very true. Thank you for this Rochelle, I am really enjoying your prompts! Always challenging, but always fun to write about. Keep it up!
They sound like magical cellos to me. 🙂 I like the happy ending. 🙂
Isn’t music always magic! 😉 Thank you for visiting David.
Very nice! Very nice indeed. The audience applauds 🙂
Aww thanks Abraham!
The power of music to trascend emotion always amazes me, nicely written 🙂
Thanks Linda 🙂
I never even knew there was such thing as a double bass before this challenge.
Haha! 🙂 We live and learn 🙂
As old as I am…still learning!
Lovely story, I really loved it’s romantic tone.
It’s not my usual style to end stories happily, but I couldn’t resist with this one! Thank you for reading 🙂
I enjoyed your take. The show must go one, however it may. They have kind of rocky relationship, huh? Good one!
And music brought them back together… Thanks for reading 🙂
I absolutely love this!
Thank you Angela
Are these two in need of some alone time? 😉 Very cute. I like it. Nice take on the prompt.
In a second or two, maybe! Thanks.
